<u>Your Question -</u>

One number is 8 times another number. The numbers are both positive and have a difference of 70. Find the numbers.

<u>Solution -</u>

Let the first number be 'x'.
Then, second number = 8 × x = 8x

So, their difference
= second number - first number
= 8x - x

But, their difference is 70. (as given in the question)

=> 8x - x = 70

=> 7x = 70

=> x = 70/7

=> x = 10

<marquee>Hence, the first number = x = 10

And, second number = 8x = 8 × 10 = 80</marquee>

Thank you. ;-)
