Answer :-

The numbers are 14 and 6.

Solution :-

Let the another number be x

One of the number = 4 less than three times the another number = 3(x) - 4 = 3x - 4

Sum of the numbers = 3x - 4 + x

Sum of numbers increased by 5 = 25

⇒ 3x - 4 + x + 5 = 25

⇒ 4x + 1 = 25

Transpose 1 to RHS

⇒ 4x = 25 - 1

⇒ 4x = 24

Transpose 4 to RHS

⇒ x = 24/4

⇒ x = 6

Another number = x = 6

One of the number = 3x - 4 = 3(6) - 4 = 18 - 4 = 14

Therefore the numbers are 14 and 6.

Verification :-

Let us check

3x - 4 + x + 5 = 25

⇒ 14 + 6 + 5 = 25

⇒ 25 = 25
