Step-by-step explanation:

let numbers are A and J

According to question,

A = 3J - 4 ----------(i)

also,

A + J + 5 = 25 -------(ii)

now, put the value of A in eq. (ii)

3J - 4 + J + 5 = 25

4J + 5 - 4 = 25

4J + 1 = 25

4J = 25 - 1

4J = 24

J = 24 ÷ 4

J = 6

so smaller one is 6

and for the big one we would put its value in eq. (i)

A = 3J - 4

A = 3*6 - 4

A = 18 - 4

A = 14

and here.....

we got both the numbers

A = 14

J = 6

HOPE IT HELPS
