Let the large number be x.Then,

According to the question the second number will be x/2.

So, now we can form the equation as,

$x + \frac{x}{2} = 6$

$= > \frac{2x + x}{2} = 6$

$= > 3x = 6 \times 2$

$x = \frac{12}{3}$

$x = 4$

So, we get the large number as 4.

And the small number will be half the large number,I.e. 2.
