EFFECTS OF CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS ON THE SOIL

Excessive use of chemical fertilizers contributes to the destruction of soil structure leading to the leaching of soil nutrients that could be used to boost production.

excessive chemicals in the soil low the level of water holding capacity there by causing low moisture content on soil for plant use.

Continuous fertilizers use lowers soil fertility in the manner that crop production can not be effective without use fertilizers hence causing increase in production costs.
