One of the codons on mRNA is AUG. Draw the structure of tRNA adapter molecule for this codon. Explain the uniqueness of this tRNA.

AUG is the start codon present on messenger RNAs( mRNA) and has a special tRNA for carrying methionine to pair with it.These tRNAs are called initiator tRNAs.

They carry methionine or formylated methionine to start the process of protein synthesis( translation).

Another unique feature is that it is the only tRNA that can bind to the P site of the ribosome during the process of translation.

Also, it is the only one tRNA that does not bind to the elongation factor in this process.
