Auxin is used as plant growth hormone in tea plantation. Auxin is also known as indole 3 acetic acid. It is a type of phytohormone present in the stem and branches of the plant.

It is used in the apical buds of the tea plant for proper growth as in the harvesting period the apical bud is plucked for industrial use and processing. Auxin also controls the behaviour of plant throughout its life.

It also helps the plant to recover from the wound or any damaged tissue. Auxins are found in mainly in tip and root of the plant.
