Quantity of water in a competitor's bottle = 42 ounce

Quantity of water drunk by the competitor :-

 =  \frac{\texttt{1}}{\texttt{3}}  \:  \:  \: \texttt{of 42}

 =  \frac{\texttt{1}}{\texttt{3}} \texttt{ \: × \: 42}

 =  \frac{\texttt{1×42}}{\texttt{3} }

 =  \frac{\texttt{42}}{\texttt{3} }

 =\texttt{\color{hotpink} 14 \: ounces}

Therefore, the quantity of water the competitor drank = 14 ounces
