{\frak{\green{\underline{question: }}}}

  • To find length of parallel sides of trapezium.

{\frak{\green{\underline{answer: }}}}

Given :

  • One of the parallel sides of trapezium is thirce the other.

  • Area of trapezium is 440 cm²

  • Height is 22 cm

Lets Do ::

{\underline{\bf{Area \: of \:  trapezium= \frac{1}{2}×(a+b)×h}}}

  • H = height
  • a and b are parallel sides

let , 2 parallel sides be x and 3 x

= 1/2 ×(a+b)×h = 440

= 1/2× (x+3x)×22 = 440

= 1/2 × 4x ×22 = 440

= 4x × 11 = 440

= 4x = 440/11

= 4x = 40

= x = 40/4

= x = 10

So, value of x is 10. So the parallel sides are 10 and 3×10 , 30 cm.

Let's verify ::

= 1/2 × (10+30)×22 = 440

= 1/2× 40×22 = 440

= 1/2 × 880 = 440

= 440 = 440

LHS = RHS

Thus Solved !!
