as one component of 80km/hr velocity is 40km/hr , then ;

cos (theta) = 40/80
= 1/2
(theta) = 60°

other component will be ;
cos (90-60) = x/80
80 × cos 30° = x
x = 80×√3/2
x = 40√3 km/hr

hope this helped you ... ...... !!

Given,

Component of velocity 80km/h is 40km/h

To Find,

The other component.

Solution,

One component of 80km/hr velocity is 40km/hr ,

then ,

Cos (theta) = 40/80

                    = 1/2

     (theta)   = 60°

Other component will be,

cos (90-60) = x/80

80 × cos 30° = x

x = 80×√3/2

x = 40√3 km/hr

Hence, the other component is 40√3 km/hr.
