Hey
Let the unknown component be x.
Therefore,
65 ²= 25² + x²
x = √(65² - 25²)
x = √(4225 - 625 )
x = √3600
x = 60 answer.

Hope it helps :))

Answer:

The other component will be 60 N.

Explanation:

  • Rectangular Components: If a vector resolved into a horizontal and a vertical component, then the components are called rectangular components.

       If R is a vector and its two rectangular components are a vector and b vector, then we can write R = \sqrt{a^2 + b^2}

  • Calculation: The force is R = 65 N.

      One rectangular component = a = 25 N

     Putting the values in above equation, 65 = \sqrt{25^2 + b^2}

                                                                    65² = 25² + b²

                                                                    b² = 65² - 25² = 4225 - 625

                                                                    b² = 3600 = 60²

                                                                    b = 60

      ∴ The other component will be 60 N.
