If 2 is a root of the given polynomial equation then solution of this equation will be zero

 {(2)}^{2}  + 2 \times m - 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  > 4 + 2m - 5 = 0 \\  \\  =  > 2m = 1 \\  \\  =  > m =  \frac{1}{2}
