 {x}^{2}  + mx - 5 = 0 \\ root \: is \: 2 \\  {2}^{2}  + 2m - 5 = 0 \\ 4 - 5 + 2m = 0 \\ 2m - 1 = 0 \\ 2m = 1 \\ m =  \frac{1}{2}
