Hi ,

It is given that one root of quadratic equation

x² + mx - 5 = 0 is 2.

To find m we have to substitute m = 2 in

given equation.

Now ,

2² + m × 2 - 5 = 0

4 + 2m - 5 = 0

2m -1 = 0

2m = 1

m = 1/2

Therefore ,

Option ( C ) is correct.

I hope this helps you.

Heya !!

X² + MX - 5 = 0

(2)² + M × 2 - 5 = 0

4 + 2M - 5 = 0

2M - 1 = 0

M = 1/2

Hence,

Option ( C ) is right answer.
