 Given \: Quadratic \: equation : 2x^{2}+kx-2=0

 Given\: 2 \: is \: a \: root \:of \: the

 Quadratic \: equation

 put \: x = 2 \: in \: the \: equation , we \:get

 2 \times 2^{2} + k \times 2 - 2 = 0

 \implies 4 + 2k - 2 = 0

 \implies 2 + 2k = 0

 \implies 2k = -2

 \implies k = \frac{-2}{2}

 \implies k = -1
