Answer:

Original number is 62

Explanation:

units place digit = x

tens place digit = 3x

Find original number -

x(1) + 3x (10) [we are multiplying x by 1 as it is units place, and we are multiplying 3x by 10 as it is the tens place]

original number = x + 30x

                            =31x

Find reversed number -

x(10) + 3x(1) [ we are multiplying x by 10 and 3x by 1 as we have to reverse the digits]

reversed number = 10x + 3x

                              =13x

Given - original number + reversed number = 88

31x + 13x = 88

44x = 88

x = 88/44

x = 2

original number = 31x

                            = 31(2)

original number =62

reversed number =26

FOR VERIFICATION -

original number + reversed number = 88

62+26= 88

Hence, Original number is 62
