You should simply help him clear his/her doubt or solving the problem if you know the answer. But if he/she needs professional teaching, you should give him/her the courage to ask the Question from the teacher. A teacher is never so mean that he/she'll make fun of his/her student. Although, he'll be glad to know that the student is taking interest in his teaching. Never be afraid of asking Questions. It's good for knowledge.
