At first I will try to find out the actual reason of forgetfulness of my friend.

If I find out that the issue is related to some kind of ailment or is a side-effect of any chronic and long-term ailment, I will ask my friend to visit a good doctor. But if the issue is not related to any specific reason but is a result of mere lack of attention and carelessness, I will suggest the following remedies to my friend:

  • He should not do more than one thing at a time and focus completely on what he is doing at that moment
  • He should invest some time of the day in meditation to increase his concentration level
  • I will ask him to get involved in games which involves intelligence and concentration both, say chess.
  • I will ask him to sleep properly at night because lack of good sleep is also a reason for forgetting things.
  • I will ask him to write all his commitments, assignments, important things to do on a daily basis on a diary so that he do not need to pressurize his brain much.
  • He should also get involved in activities he enjoy, like swimming, playing guitar, learning salsa etc. to relax his mind
  • Last, but not the least, diet also plays a great role in enhancing our memory. Different types of nuts, blueberries, dark chocolate, fish oil, coconut water and even coffee can help you stay alert and attentive to your work.
