Hi there,

Answer: Differential floatation.

PbS and ZnS each type froth with pine oil on effervescent air within the mixture. In such a case, NaCN is employed as a depressant. Before froth floatation method is employed, NaCN is mixed (as a depressant) that forms a complex with ZnS.

PBS remains insoluble and is separated. CuS04 is then extra to activate depressed ZnS and air is blown once ZnS floats. This technique is termed differential floatation.

Hope it helped.
