Portia was the daughter of a rich holy christian , whereas, Jessica was the daughter of a rich Jew.

Portia was faithful to her father (shown by her attitude towards the will),whereas, Jessica was unfaithful(shown by her elopement ).

Portia loved Bassanio ,whereas , Jessica loved Lorenzo.

Portia was extremely intelligent and handled all matters with dignity, whereas , there are instances where Jessica loses dignity.
