One parallel side of a trapezium is 10cm less than the other. If the distance between the parallel sides is 15cm and the area of the trapezium is 600cm² , find the length of each parallel side.

→ Length of each parallel sides are 45 cm and 35 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:-

→ Let one of the unknown sides of the trapezium be considered as x

and the other one as x-10.

Now, as per the question,

1/2 × (a + b ) × h = 600 cm².

=) 1/2 × (x + x-10) × 15 = 600 cm²

=) 1/2 × (2x - 10) × 15 = 600 cm²

=) 1/2 × (2x - 10) = 600/15

=) 2x - 10 = 80

=) 2x = 90

=) x = 45 cm.

Therefore,

★ One of the parallel sides, x measure 45 cm

★ while the other one, x - 10 = 45 - 10 measure 35 cm.
