One particular Bible is to be found most frequently in American hotel rooms. Which is it?

I’m sure that 99% of the answers here will say “Because Gideons give them out to hotels for free”. My answer is “Because guests expect them”, as they would a television and a shower.

I took them out of my hotel because guests scribbled on them, used them to write down phone numbers, or tore pages out of them - and those that I franchise my hotel through will penalize me for having defaced materials in my room.

Within a few days of doing so, I began getting calls from guests asking “Where is the bible?” Not a lot, but fairly regular requests every week. We ended up installing tablets that do a fair amount of other things, but one of the features is that it includes the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita (I do plan on adding Quran and holy books for other religions as well; I’m working with the vendor for my tablets).
