The time taken by the slower pipe to fill the pool = 11.25 hours.

Explanation:

Let x be time taken by the slower pipe to fill the pool.

Then, the time taken by the faster pipe yo fill the pool = \dfrac{x}{1.25}=\dfrac{100x}{125}=\dfrac{4x}{5}

As per given  , we have

\dfrac{1}{x}+\dfrac{1}{\dfrac{4x}{5}}=\dfrac{1}{5}\\\\ \dfrac{1}{x}+\dfrac{5}{4x}=\dfrac{1}{5}\\\\ \dfrac{4+5}{4x}=\dfrac{1}{5}\\\\ \dfrac{9}{4x}=\dfrac{1}{5}\\\\ x=\dfrac{9\times5}{4}=11.25

Hence, the time taken by the slower pipe to fill the pool = 11.25 hours.
