19 , 1 rabbit + 6 elephants + 12 monkeys ( as each elephant saw 2 monkey) =19 animals .

Every elephant saw 2 monkeys going towards the river.= 2 monkeys
Every monkey holds one parrot in their hand, but only two are going towards the river.
Therefore; parrots going towards the river = 2
Total animals =5
