One reads a newspaper due to light reflected from it. why then we do not see evenfaint image of ourselves in the news paper?

We can see an image, if it is caused by regular reflection. In the case of newspaper, the inhomogeneties of the surface cause diffuse reflections. So the incident parallel beam is scattered in all directions. Hence no image is seen.Hope this clarifies your doubt.
