Answer :- One should not look directly at sun during solar eclipse because at this time a large amount ultraviolet rays ( UV) fall directly on earth.

UV Ray's:- It is a harmful ray emitted by the sun. It is responsible for causing skin cancer in human being.

Prevention from UV rays:- the ozone layer prevent the earth from ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun. It is a trimolecular form of oxygen ( O3 ) .

Ozone :- Ozone is thick layer of oxygen ( O3) that prevents earth from ultraviolet rays. It is itself a poisonous gas.

Formation of ozone :- when the ultraviolet rays fall on oxygen ( O2 ) molecules , it breaks it into single atoms ( O)

. This oxygen atom combines with O2 molecules and form ozone ( O3 ).

O2 ( In presence of UV ) = O+O

O + O2 = O3 ( ozone)

Hope it helps you
