Let ABCD be the parallelogram.

AM be the altitude corresponding to the base CD and CN be the altitude corresponding to the base AD.

It is given AM = 8 cm, CD = 50 cm and CN = 4 cm.

Area of parallelogram = base × corresponding height

Area of parallelogram ABCD = CD × AM

Area of parallelogram ABCD = (50 × 8) …... ...(1)

Area of parallelogram ABCD = AD × CN

Area of parallelogram ABCD = AD × 4 cm² …...…...(2)

Put the value of eq (1) in eq (2)

50 × 8 = AD × 4

AD = 400/4

AD= 100 cm

Hence, length of the other pair of parallel side is 10 cm.
