Let the shorter side be of length x m

Therefore the longer side(adjacent side) has length (x+2.5)m             [GIVEN]

We know that perimeter of a figure is the length of the boundary surrounding the figure.

So perimeter=sum of 4 sides=2(sum of 2 adjacent sides)=2(x+x+2.5)=2(2x+2.5)=4x+5

So by the problem

4x+5=51                 [given that perimeter=51 m]

=>4x=51-5=46

x=46/4=11.5

x+2.5=11.5+2.5=14

So the sides are 11.5 m,14 m,11.5 m,14 m.

Hope this helps : )

Hey Mate here is your answer
Let the adjacent side of a parallelogram be x. Then the one side will be (2.5+x)m.
ATQ , 2(l+b)=51m
2(2.5+x+x)=51
2.5+2x=51/2
2x=51/2-2.5
2x=46/2
2x=23
x=11.5m
the longer side will be 2.5+11.5=14m
Hence both sides are 11.5m and 14m resp.
Hope it will help you a lot
