GivEn:
- One side of a parallelogram is ¾ times is adjacent side.
- Perimeter of the Parallelogram is 70 cm.
To find:
- Sides of parallelogram?
Solution:
☯ Let two adjacent sides of parallelogram be x and y respectively.
GivEn that,
- One side of a parallelogram is ¾ times is adjacent side.
Therefore,
➯ y = ¾ x ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀❬eq (❶)❭
Now,
★ According to the Question:
- Perimeter of the Parallelogram is 70 cm.
➯ 2(x + y) = 70
➯ 2(x + ¾ x) = 70
➯ x + ¾ x = 70/2
➯ x + ¾ x = 35
➯ (4x + 3x)/4 = 35
➯ 7x/4 = 35
➯ 7x = 35 × 4
➯ 7x = 140
➯ x = 140/7
➯ x = 20
Now, Substituting value of x in eq (1),
➯ y = 3/4 × 20
➯ y = 15
∴ Hence, two adjacent sides of parallelogram is 20 cm and 15 cm respectively.
And, We know that,
- Opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal and parallel.
∴ So, the sides of parallelogram are 20 cm, 20 cm, 15 cm and 15 cm.
