Answer:

SIDES OF RECTANGLE ARE 8 CM AND 28 CM

Explanation:

BY FACTORISATION METHOD,

One side = x

So other side = x + 20

THEN ACCORDING TO THE QUESTION,

So , LxB = 224

x( x + 20) = 224

x2 + 20x = 224

x2 + 20x - 224 = 0

x2 + 28x - 8x - 224 = 0

x( x + 28) -8 ( x + 28) = 0

(x + 28)(x - 8) = 0

So x = 8 and -28

We know that side never be negative, So we get

x = 8 and x + 20 = 28
