Given :-

  • One side of a rectangular field is 15m
  • One of its diagonal is 17m

 \\

To Find :-

  • Area of Field

 \\

Solution :-

❏ As we know that, Area of Rectangle is given by Length × Breadth. So, first we have to find the Breadth of the Rectangle.

➞ (Diagonal)² = (Length)² + (Breadth)²

➞ (17)² = (15)² + (Breadth)²

➞ 289 = 225 + (Breadth)²

➞ 289 - 225 = (Breadth)²

➞ 64 = (Breadth)²

➞ √64 = Breadth

8m = Breadth

________________

⟾ Area of Field = Length × Breadth

⟾ Area of Field = 15 × 8

⟾ Area of Field = 120m²

Thus Area of the Field = 120m²

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle :

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
