one side of a rectangular garden is 48m and it's diagonal is 50m long . find the area and perimeter of the garden.

Let the other side be x.

According to Pythagoras Theorem,

(Base)² + (Height)² = (Diagonal)²

=> (48)² + (x)² = (50)²

=> 2304 + x² = 2500

=> x² = 2500 - 2304

=> x² = 196

=> x = 14

Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 2(48+14) m = 2(62) m = 124 m

Area = l×b = 48×14 m² = 672 m²
