The area of triangle is 210 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the one side be x cm

We are given that the difference in length of its hypotenuse and other side is 8 cm

So, Hypotenuse = x+8

Other side of right angled triangle = 20 cm

Hypotenuse^2 = Perpendicular^2+Base^2 \\(x+8)^2 = x^2+20^2 \\x^2+16x+64=x^2+400 \\16x+64=400 \\16x=336

x=21

Hypotenuse = x+8= 21+8 = 29 cm

Area of right angled triangle  =\frac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height = \frac{1}{2} \times 20 \times 21 =210 sq.cm.

Hence The area of triangle is 210 sq.cm.
