One side of a triangle measures 8 cm. of the remaining two sides, one measures2 cm more than the other. Prove that the length of each side of a triangle is greater than 3 cm.​

Since in a triangle, the sum of two sides will be greater than the third side, we have

x+x+2>8

=>2x+2>8

=>2x>6

=>x>3

Hence the two unknown sides will be greater than 3 as they are x,x+2

Also 8>3

Hence, all the three sides of the triangle >3cm
