Solution

Given :-

  • One side of parallelogram is 18cm and its area is 153 sq. cm

To Find :-

  • The distance of the given side from its opposite side.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let side of the parallelogram ( b ) = 18 cm

Distance between two parallel sides = altitude = h cm

As we know that ,

Area of parallelogram = b × h

Putting the respective value

Area of parallelogram = 18 cm × h = 153 cm²

Area of parallelogram = h = 153 cm²/ 18 cm

Area of parallelogram = 17 cm / 2

Area of parallelogram = 8.5 cm

Hence,

Distance between two parallel sides (h) = 8.5 cm
