area of field = lb
b= √5^2-4^2
=√9=3
area = 4*3
=12m^2

We know, adjacent sides of rectangle are perpendicular to each other.


By Pythagoras theorem,

5² = 4² + (other side)²

25-16 = (other side)²

√9 = (other side)

±3 = other side

Side can't be in minus, so other side = 3 m


Now,

Area of rectangle = Length ×breadth

Area of rectangle = 4×3

area of rectangle = 12m²
