*Question:-

  • one side of the rectangular field is 4 metres and its diagonal is 5 metres what will be the area of the field.

*Answer:-

Other side = √5² - 4²

= √ 9

=3 m

So The area of the rectangular field = 4 x 3= 12m²

Hence, the area of rectangular field is 12m².

Given :

  • Diagonal (D) = 5m
  • Length (L) = 4m

 \\

To Find :

  • Area of the Field

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, Area of Rectangular Field is given by Length × Breadth. Now in this question, Diagonal and Length of the Rectangular Field are given so firstly we will find the Breadth of the Rectangular Field by applying the formula (D)² = (L)² + (B)² where D , L and B stands for Diagonal, Length and Breadth respectively.

⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(D)² = (L)² + (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀(5)² = (4)² + (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀25 = 16 + (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀25 - 16 = (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀9 = (B)²

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀√9 = B

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀3m = B

⠀⠀

Now,

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀Area of Field = L × B

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀Area of Field = 4 × 3

⠀⠀⠀⟼⠀⠀⠀Area of Field = 12m²

Thus Area of Rectangular Field is 12m²

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
