(a) SIMILARITY:

Both chloroplast and chromoplast are membrane-bound organelles that contain

DIFFERENCE:

The main difference between chloroplast and chromoplast is that chloroplast is the green color pigment in plants whereas chromoplast is a colorful pigment whose color can be yellow to red. Furthermore, chloroplast contains chlorophylls and other carotenoids while chromoplast generally contains carotenoids.

(b) SIMILARITY:

Both the smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum help in the production and storage of proteins

DIFFERENCE:

The smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER) does not contain ribosomes. The Smooth ER looks more like tubes. The SER helps in the storage of proteins and lipids. Cells that produce oils have a higher ratio of SERs than do other cells. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum can be found dispersed throughout the cytoplasm of the cell.
