When the reaction of iron nails with solution of copper sulphate change in colour of the iron nails because it displacement reaction.

DISPLACEMENT REACTION : the reaction in which more reactive metal displace the less reactive is called displacement reaction.

Equation:

CuSO4 + Fe ---- FeSO4 + Cu
(blue) (black) (green) (reddish brown)

Fe is more reactive than copper because Fe displace the Cu.
