let X be the number of women

and y be the number of men in the group

1st condition :-

$\rm :\longmapsto\: \frac{1}{3} (x + y) = y \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\:x + y = 3y \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\:x = 2y - - - - - (1)$

2nd condition:-

$\rm :\longmapsto\:x = 200 + y \\ \\\rm :\longmapsto\:2y = 200 + y \\ \\\rm :\longmapsto\:2y - y = 200 \\ \\ \rm :\longmapsto\:y = 200 \\ \\\rm :\longmapsto\:y = 200 \: is \: the \: number \: of \: men$

substituting y = 200 in (1) equation :-

so therefore total number of people in the group = number of men + number of women

so therefore there are 600 people in the group.
