The answer is Rs 6,000

GIVEN

One third of the total number of items are sold at a profit of 10%,25% of the items are sold at a profit of 20% and the remaining items at a profit of 32%.The total profit is Rs. 1300.

TO FIND

The total cost price of all items.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Let the number of article be 120

Let, Cost price of 120 article = 120 units

1/3rd of total article = 1/3 × 120 = 40

Profit = 40 × (10/100) = 4 units

Similarly,

25% of total article = 1/4 × 120 = 30

Profit = 30 × 0.2 = 6 units

Remaining = 120 - 70 = 50

Profit = 50 × 0.32 = 16 units

Total profit = 4 + 6 + 16 = 26 units

26 units = 1300

1 unit = 50

120 units = 50 × 120 = Rs 6,000

Hence, The answer is Rs 6,000
