Given : One trader sells one type of tea at Rs 80 per kg at a loss of 20% and another type he made 25% profit by selling at 200 rupees per kg.
He sell at 150 rupees per kg, and get 25% profit
To Find : mixed the two types of tea in what proportions
Solution:
One type of tea at Rs 80 per kg at a loss of 20%
Hence Cost price = 80 * 100 / (100 - 20) = Rs 100 per kg
another type he made 25% profit by selling at 200 rupees per kg.
Cost price = = 200 * 100 / (100 + 25) = 160 Rs per kg
Ratio k : 1
Total cost = 100k + 160 Rs
25 % profit = (25/100) (100k + 160) = 25k + 40 Rs
Selling Price = 100k + 160 + 25k + 40 = 125k + 200 Rs
Total Tea = k + 1 kg
Sell at 150 Rs Per kg
Selling Price = 150 (k + 1) = 150k + 150 Rs
Equate Selling Price
125k + 200 = 150k + 150
=> 25k = 50
=> k = 2
Ratio = 2 : 1

125k + 200 = 150k + 150
=> 25k = 50
=> k = 2
