1.The “lead” in a pencil isn't actually made from lead. It is made from a form of carbon called graphite. The graphite is mixed with clay and formed into long thin pencil lead.

2.Since diamonds are the hardest known substance having hardness set to 10, while glass which are used on windows have a hardness of 5.5. What this means is that any material which has hardness within a range from 5.5 to 10 can be used to cut glass.
