A cross between 2 individuals which differ in single trait or character is called Monohybrid cross
- When a tall plant (TT) crossed with a dwarf plant (tt) the first generation (F1) plants formed are all tall plants . It shows the tallness is a dominant factor and dwarfness is a recessive factor .
- When F1 plants are self pollinated two different types of plants obtained are tall and dwarf in the ratio of 3:1 phenotypically but genotypically the ratio of plants is 1:2:1 *(Homozygous tall : Heterozygous tall : Homozygous dwarf )
