The Swiss Alps are a mountain range that formed during the Tertiary era after Pangea, the supercontinent, broke up. The African tectonic plate bumped into the European tectonic plate and this caused a bunch of rocks to be pushed up creating what we now call the Alps. The mountain range's tallest peak is Mt. Blanc which is 4,810 meters tall. The second tallest peak Monte Rosa, which is 4,634 meters tall
