so A=p(1+rt/100)

A=60000(1+12*1/100)

A=67200

given 50% of compounded from principal

50% of 60000=30000         ............(eq-1)

and remove it from amount

67200-30000=37200

and now for second year

A=37200(1+12/100)

A=41664

from question it is said that 50% from remg loan at end of second year

so 50% not from 60000 but from eq-1 that is 30000

which is equal to 15000 is deducted for amount of loan at third year

41664-15000=26664

which is reqd answer
