Explanation:

Ryots were reluctant to grow indigo as planters paid a very little for indigo . they were not in condition to recover the cost , also the indigo plants absorbed all the nutrients of the soil and soil ended up infertile and so other plants like rice couldn't be grown on it(which were their basic need)
