yes,of course the gravity acts as he said.You can try this in your real life.Take a thing for ex- mango of 1 kg.We know that the gravitational force is higher at poles and lower at equator and weight is the gravitational force that acts on an object.You will see the change in weight of the object when we go to pole and the equator.
