only gases burn with a flame but when you burn wood it initially burns with a flame later it only grows with out of plane what do you think is the reason for this

Only gases burn with a flame but when you burn wood, it initially burns with a flame.later, it only glow without a flame. ... A flame is produced by substances which vapourise duringburning. Initially, the wood burns withflame due to the gases in the wood.
