A specific gravity bottle weighs 25 g. When filled with water, it weighs 55 g. When filled with alcohol, it weighs 49 g.Find the relative density of alcohol.

Here we have ,

Mass of water = 55 - 25 = 30 g ( since Wight of the bottle is 25 g )

Mass of alcohol = 49 - 25 = 24 g

$Relative \: Density \: = \: \frac{mass \: of \: substance \: \: \: }{mass \: of \: water} \\ \\ = \frac{24}{30} \\ \\ = \frac{12}{15} = 0.4$
Hence 0.4
